Have a red barchetta!
Rush is one of my favorite bands, and when I heard Geddy Lee was doing a local book signing, I decided to go. The line was long, but it was 2 hours of reminiscing with other Rush fans, so that was neat. The Big Beautiful Book of Bass is a large book, and I’ve never been one to seek out autographs, but it is pretty cool to have a signed book, and a few scant seconds to chant with someone I’ve spent many many hours listening to.
I also spotted what I think is a Huracan Convertible on the drive to the book signing.

That’s dope. Big fan of a few of his songs, Red Barchetta included.

Rush is the best. I’m fortunate to have seen them live a couple of times, probably my favourite concerts, ever.

One of my favorite songs and one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen.
Barchetta would of been a great custom plate if it would of fit.

Glad you had a good time. Sounds like a fun event. But I gotta say, I think Rush completely lost their mojo after Moving Pictures. All the fire and striking originality was gone, and they just seemed to aggressively follow whatever the current trend was, from synth pop to grunge.

I’ve been to a few as well. Always a great time. I dragged my wife along on the final tour and she was less than impressed. Ha.

I remember when I went to see them at Red Rocks, they played one of their more recent mellow songs, which I decided was a good time for a bathroom break. While I was in there, I heard the first harmonic notes of Red Barchetta and hurried the hell up to get back out!

They’re at the top of my live band list for sure. And any post where I can squeeze out pictures of your car is worthwhile, I love it!

Most women I’ve met don’t like Rush, not exactly sure why.

I was lucky to meet Geddy Lee in Montreal. The best part I was the first one in line to bump fists and get his signature on my book.

That’s awesome. I was a little later in getting there, so the line was already quite large. My first Rush concert was actually in Montreal at the Forum.

The later albums (say, post Grace Under Pressure) could definitely be hit or miss when it came to songs. I actually like the last three albums more than the ‘90s releases.

I do think Signals and Grace Under Pressure were solid albums and I do like Power Windows. They were definately rolling with the tide of Synth and Post punk period. I sure don’t like the mix in Signals though. However they weren’t nearly as that mojo from Caress of Steel to Moving Pictures for sure. Their 90s stuff would have some great songs here and there but not whole solid albums. I do like Vapor Trails, Snakes and Arrows and do think Clockwork Angels was a great swan song final album. I always g ave Rush credit. They didn’t care what record companies or even fans thought. They always did their own thing. Hit or miss. For that I’ve always respected everyone of their albums even if sonically and mojo it wasnt like their earlier greats

I’ve heard all of those. Headlong flight was my favorite from Clockwork Angels. It almost seemed like an homage to their mid to late 70s stuff (the main riff calls Bastille Day to mind) but I wasn’t crazy about the production on it. There are some great guitar riffs in that that get kind of muffled and lost in the mix.
I’ll give the others another listen. Animate is a decent song as I recall but never really grabbed me like their older stuff.

Agreed. Their last three albums were their best since Moving Pictures, but suffered from production issues (especially VT).
Clockwork Angels is actually a good album but I don’t like the way it was mixed. Could have been much better.
